Symphonic Band
The PCHS Symphonic Band is the top concert ensemble for students grade 10-12. This is a smaller ensemble of advanced players which lends to part independence and individual responsibility. Students must audition to receive placement in this ensemble after participation in the Concert Band. Symphonic Band members learn advanced techniques and play a higher level of difficulty music than the other concert ensembles at PCHS. This group has the honor of representing PCHS at festivals and additional functions. Students in the Symphonic Band meet daily and have sectionals once a week, with the opportunity to come in additional days for independent practice time. All students are expected to complete their Grade Level Expectations (GLE) and attend all curricular dress rehearsals and concerts. Enrollment in this course allows students to receive PE Exemption for their participation in Marching Band. Individuals may also participate in Pep Band and have the opportunity to audition for Jazz Ensemble.
