Concert Band
The Concert Band at PCHS is a large ensemble for students grade 9-12 that wish to participate in a curricular ensemble. Freshman and new members join this group in the spring after completing a semester of Cadet Band. This ensemble plays on all curricular concerts and our Jr. High recruitment day. Students enrolled in this class meet daily and have sectionals once a week to work playing fundamentals and musicianship. This group is designed to give students a large ensemble setting for learning musical techniques and concepts. Students begin learning some advanced techniques in preparation for auditions into the Symphonic Band. All students are expected to complete their Grade Level Expectations (GLE) and attend all curricular dress rehearsals and concerts. This ensemble also combines with the Symphonic band to perform at certain events such as graduation. Enrollment in this course allows students to receive PE Exemption for their participation in Marching Band. Individuals may also participate in Pep Band and have the opportunity to audition for Jazz Ensemble.
