Jazz Ensemble

             The PCHS Jazz Ensemble is an extra-curricular group that meets after school from November-May.  This award winning ensemble travels throughout Illinois participating in clinics and festivals, where they receive educational guidance in the art of jazz.  This ensembles has the distinction of numerous awards, first place rankings, and outstanding soloist awards.  The ensemble has been the Grand Champion at the Illinois State University Jazz Festival, and regularly participates in the Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival at UMSL. Through participation in this group, students have had the luxury of learning from some of the greatest jazz musicians in central Illinois and around the country.  Students audition for this group in late October and perform at the curricular concerts as well as guest appearances throughout the area.  Students in this group are highly encouraged to audition for the ILMEA District IV Jazz bands and other area ensembles to help expand their abilities.
